Matt's Ears

Matt has not yet slept through the night since he was born...that's right about 11 months for us having to get up at least once during the night to hear Matt screaming. Matt has had 6 ear infections now in about 7 months and we have been convinced that it's the fluid/pressure in his ears that have contributed to his poor sleeping patterns.

Well, on Monday he had surgery to put tubes in his ears...The poor little guy did great, except he was very mad coming out of anesthesia.

The two nights after the surgery he has slept for 12 hours straight and has woken up in great mood (very different from his previous behavior)

About 4 hours after surgery

He's been a little fussy today, so we won't scream hurray just yet, but I think he might be teething and the ear drops that he has to take for another day might be a little irritating. But we are holding are fingers crossed that his ears won't bother him anymore, and we can finally get some rest! Oh please, let it be true!
